Apple Pay

You may activate Apple Pay service on any device with iOS operating system 8.1 or later, which includes the following: iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPad mini 3, iPad Pro, Apple Watch 1 and all later iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch models.

In order to use Apple Pay service, set Touch ID or Face ID as unlock method in your Apple device settings. If no security unlock feature is set, Apple Pay service cannot be activated.

Activation on mobile phone or tablet:

• open Wallet application and press “+” symbol to add a card
• scan your card by camera and automatically enter all card information (first and last name and card number) or enter the information manually
• enter expiry date and security code
• accept Terms and Conditions of Use and confirm the phone number to which you will receive text message containing one-time password used for service activation. In case you don’t receive the text message, please call our contact centre at 011 301 01 60.
• enter your password and you are ready to start using Apple Pay service.

Activation on Apple Watch

• open Apple Watch application on your iPhone device. If your mobile phone is not paired with your watch, select the option “Start Pairing” to pair the devices
• select Wallet & Apple Pay from the menu
• to activate the service select Add Card, then Next
• if you already have an active card in Wallet application on your iPhone, to activate it on your Apple Watch you just have to enter the security code which is found on the back of your card 
• if you want to add a new card on Apple Watch, you have to select the option for adding a new card, then scan your card with phone camera or enter the information manually, confirm expiry date and security code, accept Terms and Conditions of Use and enter one-time password that will be sent to you in a text message.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For security and data protection purposes, do not share the one-time password that you will receive via SMS to activate the Apple Pay service with others.

Select a card you want to deactivate in Wallet application, then tap the option “Remove This Card”.

Yes, you will receive notification for both successful and unsuccessful transactions.

Yes, Wallet application shows the latest transactions made using the device, which allows you to see history of payments made by Apple Pay service.

You will be timely notified if any other debit and credit Banca Intesa card is introduced within Apple Pay service.

Yes, you can add your card in Wallet application on several Apple devices. Activation of Apple Pay service on several devices requires cards to be added separately to each device.

Depending on the device, you can add 8 to 12 cards to Wallet application. You can add 12 cards on iPhone 8, Apple Watch Series 3 and all later models, while up to 8 cards can be added on older models.

If you add several cards on a single device, in mobile phone settings you have to choose your default card for Apple Pay service (Settings → Wallet & Apple Pay → Default Card).

No, PIN associated with your physical card is never used as transaction authorization method when paying by Apple Pay service. Payments made by Apple Pay are always authorized by one of the screen unlock features - fingerprint (Touch ID) or face scan (Face ID).

If you are a holder of Banca Intesa payment card you do not have to make any additional contracts for this service in the Bank’s offices. You just have to activate your payment card in Wallet application on your Apple device.

No fee is paid for Apple Pay service and daily use limits are equal to your physical card limits.

Yes, Apple Pay is a secure and protected method of payment, because all your payment card information is tokenized. Token is unique for each device and cannot be linked to actual payment card data. Actual payment card data is never transferred during transactions, thus preventing fraud or abuse.

No, Apple Pay service cannot be used to make payments in instalments. Only one-time transactions are possible.

In case of loss, theft or abuse of mobile phone with active Apple Pay service or card that has been activated in Wallet application, you should immediately notify the Bank bay calling the Customer Service for payment cards at 011 301 01 60.

Additionally, in case of loss or theft, you can find your phone using iCloud and remove all your cards from Wallet application in that way (in Settings, choose option My devices).

Never share personal data and activation parameters with others.

Banca Intesa will never request delivery from you by email, SMS or phone, that is, it will not forward a link for entering confidential data, namely: user ID, PIN, payment card data and other confidential data. If you receive such an email, SMS or phone call, contact the Bank immediately by calling the Contact Center (011 310 88 88).
